Course in Miracles – It Is What It Is

Perhaps you have heard the expression “it is what it is”? What does that expression mean exactly?

Before I understood the deeper meaning of the expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru in the lotus position floating above the floor imperiously imparting wisdom that would take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Since how that is my last life in the world and the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the Course In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.

What is the IT that people are writing about here? According to the Course in Miracles, IT is truth, specifically God’s truth. How come it important to emphasize that it’s God’s truth? Because God’s the fact is not open to interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have result in a myriad of religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion as a “system of thought, feeling, and action that is shared by a group and that offers the members an object of devotion.”

Who devised the machine of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? According to the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is to return to a perfect state of being. There’s no thought or action in their state to be, you just are. What mustn’t be forgotten may be the underlying thread of most religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite children of God.

A Course in Miracles and the Message of The Secret

Over the past year, many people have approached me asking me about my perspective, and the perspective of A Course in Miracles, on the favorite book and film The Secret. I was also recently asked to be involved in an expert panel discussion on The Secret and regulations of attraction at the Body Soul Spirit Expo in Calgary.

As I see it, acim david hoffmeister audio The Secret provides a few powerful and necessary global messages worth appreciating.
The initial message is which our thoughts have a strong influence on our life. The following insight is that people are entitled to a rich life, although true wealth is a lot more than just cash and “toys.” Instead, it involves feeling fulfilled in most regions of life, including our relationships, career, and health. What we must do is look within to find if, actually, we feel worth authentic wealth.

Another message that is subtly conveyed in The Secret, and one which I think to be true, is that after we have a heartfelt desire and we say yes to doing our part to manifest the desire, synchronicities arise, and dormant forces come alive.

On the flip side, I feel the indisputable fact that more “toys” in the proper execution of cars, houses, jet planes, and boats can make us happy and could be the demonstration of our capacity to manifest is potentially damaging and crippling for a lot of folks who are already “bankrupt” in the regions of self-love and self-appreciation. The issue with this picture is that the desire to have often originates from a feeling of lack rather than feeling of completeness. And because of this, whatever we gain in hopes of feeling “full,” whole, happy, or accomplished, will inevitably not work, since we feel a gap internally.

The reality is that people aren’t empty, but already full, and whenever we understand and feel this to be our new reality, then the outer world begins to “echo” our inner awareness.

A Course in Miracles reminds us that to the amount that people can accept and be truly grateful for the inheritance to be an unbounded, abundant, whole, and unlimited Self, we shall attract to ourselves an ideal outward expressions of our claimed inner worth. This reclaiming of our authentic Self will miraculously bring into manifestation any material items that will aid the greater good of both our life and of the around us, and yet we shall feel no dependency upon them for the happiness.
